The core personnel of the TTIA has remained unaltered now for the past fifteen years.

This continuity has allowed Members to develop a confidence in the advice given by staff who have become well known to our Membership over this time. It has also allowed the staff to become familiar with the major issues affecting our Membership in their specific area of expertise.

Brian Beecroft  (0419 012 522)

Chief Executive Officer

 

 

 

 

Brian commenced employment with the TTIA as an Industrial Officer in 1991 after being previously employed by another major industry association.  He became Director – Industrial Relations & Policy and in 2001 was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer.  Brian has a Masters degree in Commerce/Industrial Relations and extensive experience in employment law and human resource management.  Brian has become well-known to the industry as the key expert to consult when dealing with employment matters at the workplace.

Janet Gilbert  (0414 557 235)

Solicitor

 

Janet Gilbert commenced employment with TTIA in October 2011.  Janet comes to the Association with an impressive education background with a Masters in Law (Hons), as well as further industrial relations and legal qualifications from the University of Sydney, and has worked as an employment lawyer for a number of major legal firms.

Janet will use her legal skills to assist Members with termination of employment proceedings, enterprise bargaining, WorkCover prosecutions and dispute matters involving government agencies, trade unions or other legal representatives.

 

Ken Hocking  (0418 280 335)

Manager – OHS/Workers’ Compensation

 

 

 

 

Ken is TTIA’s Occupational Health & Safety / Workers’ Compensation Manager.  He is now entering his 15th year of employment with the organisation and is recognised as the key industry specialist in Occupational Health & Safety, Workers’ Compensation, training and risk assessment for the Timber Industry.

Ken continues to spearhead TTIA’s OH&S / Workers’ Compensation Scheme by providing excellent assistance to TTIA members. This assistance involves representing TTIA Members on several important peak government committees, developing specialised training programs for the  Industry, fulfilling OH&S research grant requirements and organising best OH&S / Workers Compensation / training and environmental practices for TTIA members.

Lee Maxwell  (0412 792 377)

OH&S/Workers’ Comp Officer

 

 

 

Lee Maxwell joined the team at TTIA in 2006.  He is well known in the industry for his work with TEMS (Training, Education & Management Services) where he was employed for 8 years.  He is a fully qualified trainer and is WorkCover accredited.

Jim Morton

OH&S/Workers’ Comp Advisor

 

 

 

Jim is employed on a consultancy basis by the Association to draw upon his considerable skills.  Jim provides a valuable resource with his vast experience, particularly in the Workers’ Compensation/risk management field.

Judith Sharp

Senior Industrial Administration/Enquiry Officer

 

 

 

 

Judith has been employed by the Association for 15 years and is responsible for all aspects of administration within the organisation. Judith’s experience and understanding of our membership’s needs makes her an integral part of the team. The smooth operation of the office is largely due to her efforts.  Judith also assists Members with industrial award enquiries on a day to day basis.  She is also the first point of contact for Members with account enquiries.
